When bass fishing using clams and clam chum , its important to find out how far back they are and depth. To do so use different size weights on all your lines.When a bass picks up your bait you can mark your line with a colorful marker pen or a piece of foil, so you can get back to same distance bass are feeding in. Then procede to change weights to the size that got the fish. Good luck and catchem up!

When fishing for blackfish the angler needs to have extreme patience. Blackfish (Tog) will first grab bait to feel and crush . Next hit will be fish bringing it back to its crushing teeth and at that time is when you lift on your rod to set the hook. If not hooked leave line in motionless to see if tog comes back.If nothing touches it then more than likely you need to rebait
